Mayors Against Gun Illegal Guns approached Purpose to pull their programs and initiatives under a unifying umbrella brand. We developed a new brand called Everytown that was led by strong visuals, compelling facts and clever storytelling. I collaborated with the creative team on the look and feel as well as the website. I also developed the comprehensive website styleguide/ design system and an initial set of shareable data visualizations.

The NYC Department of Environmental Preservation needed to convey the message that litter on the streets can end up in our waterways. I illustrated, and with the guidance of the Creative Director, developed five eye-catching marine characters that are placed around Coney Island, on bus shelters, in subway stations, and on Sanitation garbage trucks and street sweepers around the city. The campaign had the most social media engagement of any NYCDEP campaign.

Don’t Trash Our Waters is a public awareness campaign aimed at reducing litter and improving the health of New York City’s waterbodies. Trash discarded on city streets and sidewalks can end up in our surrounding waterbodies — threatening local marine wildlife, putting human health at risk and costing New York City taxpayers millions of dollars to clean up. 

The Nature Conervance approached Futerra to develop a new global brand messaging platform to be launched at COP26. Media placements include a variety of out of home and digital ads, including bus kiosks, digital billboards, and bike station panels.

We crafted an inspiring and pithy messaging framework – Together, We Find a Way – for the ambitious goals they set out. For the visual identity of the campaign, we used elements taken directly from their branding such as the leaf in their globe logo and their brand font.

We abstracted the leaf to become a window or frame for stunning photography that told a rich story. We applied their serif font in a fresh, unexpected way to make this campaign stand out.

Role // Creative Director

Foodstand is a community based app that was born out of a desire to fix the food system. It capitalized on a common behavior: taking food photos. Using tagging and geolocation, users were able to find healthy and sustainably produced food and discover new recipes.

Developed visual identity, marketing materials, style guide and iconography. Collaborated in the design of the website, iOS mobile app, and interactions. Participated in strategy, naming and user research.

Worked closely with the Art Director, Interaction Designer and Visual Designer.
